Dhapasi Water Tank

Dhapasi is a neighbourhood in Tokha Municipality, in northern Kathmandu. It was formerly a village development committee in Kathmandu District and is now part of the Tokha municipal area. The water tank at Dhapasi is the subject of a persistent local legend: stories told in the area describe a ghostly figure seen near the tank at night, and the tank is commonly listed among Nepal's haunted places. Those accounts are folklore, not verified fact. The tank itself is an ordinary piece of neighbourhood water infrastructure, and the stories attached to it are an example of how everyday places in Kathmandu acquire ghost stories in local telling.
