Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest spherical stupas in the world and the centre of Tibetan Buddhism in Kathmandu. Its vast white dome, gilded spire and painted Buddha eyes tower over a plaza of monasteries, shops and rooftop cafes. Pilgrims walk kora around the stupa as prayer flags flutter overhead, and the site was fully restored and reopened in November 2016 after the 2015 earthquake.
